Here we have a vintage Gretsch Model 6159 Dual Bass combo amplifier! This is a 35 watt amp with 6L6 power that sports two 12” Jensen Special Design speakers. What makes this amp cool is that it is two channels with one side for bass, and the other for guitar or accordion. Each channel has dual inputs with their own volume and tone controls. The guitar side also boasts a tremolo effect that sounds great. We find that a guitar run through the bass channel will produce a nice, driven rock tone when pushed. The guitar side actually stays a little cleaner, but does get a bluesy breakup going on. The amp is in good shape and has seen internal maintenance. It has a modern grounded power cable installed and an updated output transformer. The exterior shows light wear and patina, but it has survived well over the years. A great-sounding vintage tube amp!
