Offering a vintage 1960's well-maintained Electro-Voice 644 "Sound Spot" shotgun dynamic microphone. This is a chromed version, first generation 644 nice shape and it sounds great as well! These "shotgun-style" mics are specifically designed to capture sound from more distant location without introducing unnecessary background....kinda like a laser-pointer for sound. (Check out the voice sample on the listing video.)

Now for some shotgun-mic history. Ever since sound motion pictures came out, technicians have struggled to pick up speech with sufficient clarity. Problem was, getting the mic close enough to the actors without the mic being seen by the camera!  Then there was the challenge of miking things from a distance without picking up unwanted noise. Well, in 1959, Electro-Voice solved those problems with their invention of the "shotgun" microphone, and it won the company an Academy Award! The 644 is a later version of their shotgun mic.

This gorgeous working EV 644 comes with the short adapter cable (Amphenol to male XLR plug) AND the heavily-weighted desk stand. Just plug in your XLR extension cable, and you're good to go. ** Always safe, fast fair shipping, plus we offer combined shipping when making multiple purchases.**
