Up for sale is an Epiphone 1984 Explorer EX in a classic Ebony Black finish. This is the ultimate guitar for any Metallica or thrash metal fan, mirroring the iconic James Hetfield aesthetic with massive high-gain tone.

The guitar has been in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment and plays great.

Condition & Specifications:

• Condition: Very Good overall.

• Body Wear: Very clean surface. There is one tiny, minor ding on one of the body points (typical for Explorer shapes), but otherwise the finish is in excellent cosmetic shape.

• Neck & Frets: Straight neck, fully functional truss rod, and excellent fret life remaining.

• Electronics: 100% factory stock high-output active EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 85 (neck) pickups.

• Upgraded with a roller Tune-O-Matic (TOM) bridge for improved tuning stability and string life.

• Upgraded pickup rings.

• All other hardware and components remain completely factory stock.

Cosmetic Note:

Please note that there are initials lightly scratched into the plastic rear control cavity backplate. This is currently covered cleanly with a small piece of black electrical tape as shown in the photos. This is entirely restricted to the removable plastic plate—the actual wooden body of the guitar is completely untouched and pristine. It is barely noticeable, and replacement plastic plates are available online.
