A special edition dedicated to Randy Rhoads, the genius guitarist who left his mark on the history of rock guitar with his angelic good looks and revolutionary technique.
Randy Rhoads was a young guitar prodigy whose playing?combining beautiful phrasing rooted in classical music with a heavy sound?captivated even the gEmperor of Metal,h Ozzy Osbourne.
Even after he passed away at the young age of 25, having released only two albums, the guitar riffs he played continue to leave a deep mark on the history of metal.
The pedal that was indispensable to Randyfs guitar sound was none other than the gMXR Distortion+,h which he loved throughout his life.
On the pedalboard released by Randyfs family for the first time in 42 years was the Distortion+ he used during his active career, and we at the MXR development team were fortunate enough to acquire it.
At MXR, we examined this historic pedal down to the finest detail and succeeded in uncovering the secrets behind Randyfs sound from that era.
With the generous cooperation of Randyfs sister, Kathy Rose, we have successfully revived this pedal, which has gone down in rock fnf roll history.
Inspired by a supersonic passenger jet he saw while touring with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy designed a Flying V-style guitar with a white finish accented by pin stripes.
The MXR RANDY RHOADS SPECIAL EDITION DISTORTION+ is a specially designed pedal that pays homage to this iconic guitar.
