Update: Guitar Garage, in MA, who did the previous work, were super helpful (thanks so much!) and gave me some more info: "Hi Jake - a few details to clarify on the '56 Junior - do what you will with them. I put a set of reissue knobs on the guitar -- maybe he swapped em again, I don’t know. The dating of the guitar was based on the position of the bridge anchors vs. the pickup/pickup cover -- in addition, the guitar has full length anchors installed -- but I think it had short ones originally, which combined with the stud/pickup position would put the guitar in the first half of 1956."

Overview: This excellent old LP Jr was an epic journey for its owner. He got it years ago with its finish "in quite the state." It's been through two full refinish jobs (save the headstock) since then -- the first one came out iffy but the second one yielded this beaut -- a proper TV Yellow with the grain "poked-through" like limed oak.

This guitar has "the neck" that everyone wants -- medium but not fat, the perfect C shape, with the 10" radius -- and it's light-weight enough to comfortably play it for long gigs. The pickup sounds perfect, with that snap and bark (plus mids-hump) that makes it a perfect rawk guitar while also an instrument that can do twangy country/Americana licks to a T as well.

Repairs included: Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets and setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: First-off, it has a refinished body, done in nitro. It's just starting to get some light signs of use here and there again (small scratches, scuffs). Dating was done for the owner before the refinish job. The strap buttons, pickguard, and control plate cover are non-original. The pickup, pickup cover, and bridge studs are original (update: the sockets for the bridge studs are not). The pickup has one corner of its bobbin top damaged (in photos). The truss cover and jack plate also look original. The wiring harness dates to '87 per the pot codes and I would expect the jack does, too. It has later (3-strand-wrap) hookup wire. The tuners are period but may not be original as it does have replacement tuner ferrules installed. The nut is correct. I am not sure about the knobs but they look right (update: they're good repros).

It comes with: It has a newer hard case.
