- The Weight of History, the Voice of a King -
Are you still on an endless search for the finest acoustic guitar out there? No matter how premium a modern model you play, is there still a nagging feeling deep down that "something's missing"?
That sense of something missing may be the absence of the "weight of history" a guitar carries, and the "matured tone" that only long years can cultivate. The D-45s of the 1970s, which underpinned the era's electrifying music scene, are sought after by players worldwide, and well-preserved examples keep climbing in price every year. In the vintage market, the reality is that if you keep dreaming of owning one "someday," you may never get the chance at all.
This 1975 Martin D-45 satisfies that craving.
A supreme presence proven by history
Born in 1933, discontinued during wartime production, and triumphantly revived in 1968 - the D-45. This particular example was built in 1975, right in the thick of the folk music boom - a genuine piece of history.
The combination of the tough 1970s-style SQ truss rod and Indian rosewood produces a powerful, focused tone. The beauty of the elaborate, hand-applied abalone inlay is also stunning. After half a century of drying out, it now rings with a truly regal tone where a rumbling low end meets a shimmering, "bell-like" high end.
Over 50 years old, the top has taken on a gorgeous amber hue, and the weather-checking gives off an aura that belongs to this instrument alone - a value that only this individual guitar carries. We'd like to pass this piece of genuine history along only to someone who wants to own it and keep making new music together with it.
If you're drawn to this regal presence, please add it to your cart now before it goes to someone else. We're also happy to take questions about its condition, or arrange an in-store trial at [store name], through the [contact form].
