Offered for sale is a vintage left-handed Fender Jazz Bass, Made in U.S.A., featuring an aged white finish, maple neck/fingerboard, bound fingerboard with light-colored pearloid-style block position inlays, and chrome hardware.

The headstock is marked “Fender Jazz Bass – Made in U.S.A.” and carries an S8-prefix serial number, consistent with late-1970s Fender USA production. Because Fender serial numbers from this period can overlap between production years, we are conservatively listing the bass as circa 1977–1978 rather than guaranteeing one exact year.

This is an uncommon left-handed vintage USA Fender Jazz Bass. The bass has been modified over the years and is not being represented as completely original.

Pickups & Modifications

Please note that this bass is not being represented as completely original.

The pickup/electronics configuration has been modified, including a Bartolini replacement pickup. Bartolini is a respected manufacturer of professional-quality bass pickups and electronics.

The red pearloid/tortoise-style pickguard is also a later replacement.

These modifications make this better suited to a player looking for vintage Fender character rather than someone seeking a completely untouched collector-grade example.

Condition

The bass is in good vintage player condition and shows cosmetic wear consistent with its age and use.

The body displays scratches, scuffs, dings, finish marks and general finish wear. The neck and headstock also show age-related wear, including scratches, impressions, dings and finish wear. The hardware shows normal aging and use.

There are cosmetic imperfections throughout, so please examine all photographs carefully. The photographs show the actual bass being offered and are considered an important part of the condition description.

Overall

A very interesting and uncommon left-handed vintage Fender Jazz Bass with late-1970s USA Fender markings, maple fingerboard, attractive light-colored block inlays and fingerboard binding.

With its left-handed configuration, vintage USA Fender construction and Bartolini pickup modification, this is an appealing vintage player's bass.

It is not being represented as completely original or collector-grade because of the modifications and cosmetic wear.

Non-original hardshell case included. Sold as shown.
