Here for sale is a very special vintage Martin. This 1956 Martin D-18 is in great shape and is a spectacular acoustic guitar.  The Martin D-18 is known for being loud, dry and punchy, cutting through band mixes and offering that classic Martin tone. This example from 1956 is no exception.  Recently inspected by Gryphon Strings, the entire guitar is all original and structurally has zero issues.  There seems to be one hairline, finish crack on the back which I did my best to photograph. I was told it’s a non-issue. Some play wear below the fretboard extension

The guitar is playing great and still has some saddle left to make future adjustments if necessary.  That being said, in my opinion a future neck reset and possibly a re-fret should be done in the next 3 to 5 years.  But you may feel otherwise.  It’s not necessary today. The bridge pins have been replaced but otherwise, this guitar is in all original condition.  Finish, pick guard, bridge, bridge plate, tuners, etc.

This 1956 D-18 is in great shape and plays like a dream. I am only the second owner. The tone is loud, dry, punchy and balanced with a deep growl to it. It provides exactly what you would want a vintage D-18 to sound like. If you're a fan of vintage Martins, this one is just what you've been looking for.
