1994 Orville Les Paul Special LPSP-70, Made in Japan - Cherry / Pro Setup
Epic Axes is a musician-driven showroom in Los Angeles. Each guitar is personally selected, inspected, and tested to ensure top performance - only instruments we would play ourselves become part of our collection. Text us to book a visit.
A killer Japanese-made Les Paul Special from Orville’s golden era. This 1994 Orville LPSP-70 comes in a beautifully aged transparent Cherry finish, with the mahogany grain showing through and plenty of natural character from over 30 years of use.
The guitar is in good condition for its age, showing light scratches, small dings, and other minor cosmetic marks throughout. Nothing unusual for a well-played instrument of this age, and the wear gives the Cherry finish a great naturally broken-in look. Please check all photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
It retains its original P-90 pickups and original electronics. The classic dual P-90 setup delivers everything you want from a Les Paul Special - warm and full in the neck position, aggressive and articulate at the bridge, with plenty of midrange bite and dynamics when pushed.
The frets are in good condition, showing even wear with no significant divots or problem areas. They have been professionally polished to a mirror shine, and the guitar plays cleanly without buzzing.
Please note: A thin light-colored line is visible along a small section of the neck joint, likely from natural aging of the original glue/finish. The joint is solid and stable with no structural issues. Please see photos for details.
Overall, this is a great example of a 1990s Made-in-Japan Orville - a straightforward, resonant Les Paul Special with the raw, punchy P-90 character these guitars are known for.
The guitar has been cleaned, inspected, and professionally set up and is ready to play.
No case included.
The following work has been done: full fretboard conditioning with lemon oil, fret polish, pickup height adjustment for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D’Addario 10–46s installed. String height at the 12th fret on the low E is right at 2.3 mm - set for comfortable playability.
