It is the first Premium-level Paul Gilbert signature guitar and is based on the PGM800, but with some modifications. The guitar has an ash body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Components include a pair of DiMarzio PAF Master humbuckersflanking a custom DiMarzio PGM single-coil, a Wilkinson WV6-SB synchronized tremolo bridge, and Gotoh locking tuning machines. Ther hardware is chrome.
This guitar reintroduced the whammy bar to the PGM series, however this time with a vintage style 6-screw tremolo. Like the other Paul Gilbert guitars it uses painted "f-holes" to camouflage the controls, which consist of just a master volume and a 5-way lever pickup selector.
