Portabellabz SQ-1 Card expansion for the legendary EMS Synthi A / AKS / VCS3.

This is an ingenious plug-and-play integration of the Korg SQ-1 sequencer with the EMS Synthi, giving the Synthi straightforward sequencing, properly scaled pitch CV, gate control, MIDI/CV integration, and synchronization with other analog gear.

The card plugs directly into the Synthi's 8-pin Jones keyboard connector, creating an extremely clean setup without a mess of external CV cables or adapters.

A particularly useful addition for anyone who wants to use a Synthi melodically or rhythmically without sacrificing the experimental workflow that makes these instruments so special. It allows much more precise pitch sequencing than the Synthi's original control system while keeping the SQ-1's hands-on workflow and connectivity.

Designed primarily for EMS Synthi A / AKS systems. It can also be configured for use with a VCS3 using the appropriate Jones connector arrangement and adapted cable.

IMPORTANT POWER NOTE: The SQ-1 Card draws approximately 155mA from the Synthi's +12V rail and must not be powered from an original MK1 Synthi/VCS3 power supply. Portabellabz specifically warns that the load is too high for the MK1 PSU. MK1 owners will need an appropriate upgraded/auxiliary power solution or must configure the SQ-1 for USB power.
