The Duesenberg Fairytale Lapsteel is anything but a traditional lap steel. It takes the expressive possibilities of slide playing and adds a level of control that makes the instrument feel almost limitless. The integrated Multibender lets you bend individual strings up or down a half or whole step with the heel of your hand, opening up everything from subtle chord changes to unusual intervals and vocal-like bends. Add the built-in Easy-Shift Capo, which rides on a rail inside the fretboard so it's always right where you need it, and changing keys becomes remarkably quick and intuitive.

The Fairytale is just as versatile when it comes to tone. A hum-cancelling SingleTwin Domino P90 in the neck delivers a warm, thick voice with plenty of character, while the GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge brings the cut and definition needed for singing leads. Together they cover a wide range of sounds, from rich and atmospheric to sharp and commanding, while the special short-range speed pot gives you an easy way to create smooth, expressive volume swells. It's an instrument that encourages experimentation rather than simply asking you to play it one way.

As you'd expect from Duesenberg, the details give the Fairytale its unmistakable personality. Warmly finished nickel hardware, distinctive geometric design touches, and the included Custom Line Case give the whole package a refined, road-ready feel. The case is built with true flight-case durability, so this is an instrument you can confidently take from the studio to the stage and beyond. For players looking for a lap steel that offers far more than traditional slide sounds, the Fairytale is an inspiring and beautifully crafted way to expand your musical vocabulary.
