Pre Owned Yamaha MOXF8 88 Key Professional Synthesizer Workstation

The Yamaha MOXF8 is an 88-key professional synthesizer/workstation designed for both live performance and music production. It was part of Yamaha's MOXF series and combines technology from the MOTIF XF workstation with an 88-key weighted keyboard. Yamaha now lists the MOXF8 as a discontinued model.

The big attraction is the combination of a realistic 88-key piano-style action and a large workstation sound library. The GHS action is heavier in the lower register and progressively lighter toward the high end, making it suitable for piano playing while still working well for synthesizer, organ, strings and other sounds.

It's also much more than a stage piano. The MOXF8 can function as a complete music-production workstation, with onboard sequencing, extensive sounds and effects, MIDI control, and USB audio/MIDI integration with a computer. Yamaha designed it to work with DAWs and VST instruments as well.

USB audio interface

One particularly useful feature is that a single USB connection can carry both audio and MIDI between the MOXF8 and a computer. Yamaha specifies a built-in 4-in/2-out USB audio interface, allowing you to record the MOXF's sounds and external audio sources directly into recording software.

Size and weight

The MOXF8 measures approximately 52" wide × 16" deep × 6.6" high and weighs about 32.9 pounds (14.9 kg). That's relatively light for an 88-key workstation with weighted action.
