In 2026, Ernie Ball Music Man and progressive metal virtuoso Jason Richardson took a bold leap forward with the release of the Cutlass HT 8-String, marking the first extended-range instrument in Richardson’s signature lineup. With a multiscale platform measuring 25.5"–27", this model delivers the ideal blend of tight low-end clarity and familiar upper-register comfort, a must for high-gain riffing and fluid leads across the extended range. Designed for modern players who prioritize tone, playability, and extreme versatility, the Cutlass HT 8 is more than just a signature model; it's a technical instrument built to inspire.

Alder and buckeye burl come together for a visually stunning and sonically balanced body, while the roasted figured maple neck and ebony fretboard offer smooth playability and tonal bite. The custom-voiced Jason Richardson HT humbuckers deliver aggressive output with tight articulation, making it perfect for everything from djent-style chugs to cinematic cleans. Players can shape their tone even further with coil-splitting and a push/push volume boost offering 20+ dB of gain on demand, giving the guitar an enormous dynamic range.

Topped off with a stunning custom Water Temple finish, a tribute to the iconic Nintendo 64 game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this model seamlessly blends modern guitar design with nostalgic visual flair. Whether you're recording progressive compositions, performing technical solos, or just diving into your own musical adventures, the Jason Richardson 8-String is a powerhouse crafted to meet the demands of today's most advanced players. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.
