This brand-new Suhr Standard Plus pairs a Trans Charcoal Burst figured maple top with a pau ferro fingerboard. The darker fingerboard and burst finish give this version its own appearance within the Standard Plus range.

The specification includes a basswood body, roasted maple neck, Even C Slim profile, 10–14-inch compound fingerboard radius and heavy stainless steel frets. V60 neck and middle single coils are paired with an SSH+ bridge humbucker. The HSS layout offers both single-coil and humbucker sounds, with SSCII passive hum reduction for the single coils.

A modern take on the classic S-style design

The Standard body is slightly downsized compared with a traditional S-style shape, with sharper edge radii and slightly longer horns. The result is a guitar that feels familiar and ergonomic, but has a distinctly more modern and refined appearance.

The Basswood body and Flame Maple top are a proven combination for this type of high-performance guitar, while the scraped natural binding beautifully highlights the contours and figuring of the maple top.

Pau Ferro fingerboard

The Pau Ferro fingerboard gives this version of the Standard Plus its own character and appearance.

Its smooth, dense feel pairs beautifully with the roasted maple neck, while the darker fingerboard provides an elegant visual contrast with the body and maple neck.

Combined with Suhr's Heavy Stainless Steel frets, the playing surface feels exceptionally smooth and precise, with excellent resistance to fret wear.

V60 single coils + SSH+ humbucker

The HSS pickup configuration is one of the biggest reasons the Standard Plus is such a versatile instrument.

The two Suhr V60 single coils deliver clear, dynamic and responsive tones with plenty of sparkle and definition. They work beautifully for clean sounds, funk, blues, pop and edge-of-breakup tones.

Switch to the bridge position and the SSH+ humbucker takes things into a completely different territory. It offers considerably more output, body and authority, making it ideal for powerful rhythm sounds and singing lead tones.

This allows the Standard Plus to move easily from traditional single-coil territory to much heavier sounds without needing to change guitars.

SSCII – single-coil tone without the unwanted hum

The Standard Plus is equipped with Suhr's SSCII Silent Single Coil System II.

SSCII is designed to retain the tone and dynamic response of traditional single coils while eliminating the familiar 60-cycle hum. The system is completely passive, so no battery is required.

Even C Slim neck & compound radius

Suhr's Even C Slim .800"-.880" neck profile has a relatively slim and fast feel without becoming excessively thin.

The 10"-14" compound radius gradually becomes flatter as you move towards the higher frets. This gives you comfortable chord work lower on the neck while providing plenty of room for large bends and fast lead playing higher up.

The Heavy Stainless Steel frets further contribute to the exceptionally smooth and effortless playing feel.
