This brand-new Pete Thorn Signature Standard HSS in Inca Silver has a specification distinct from the Standard Plus: a two-piece alder body, roasted maple neck with an oil finish, ebony fingerboard and a Soft V neck profile.
The V63 neck and middle single coils are paired with a Thornbucker II bridge humbucker. Five-way switching and Suhr’s SSCII passive hum reduction cover the HSS pickup layout. The fingerboard has a 10–14-inch compound radius and jumbo stainless steel frets.
A Wilkinson WVS130 tremolo with locking saddles, Suhr locking tuners and a TUSQ nut complete the hardware. Supplied with a Suhr Travel Pro Premium softshell case. Available from The Guitarshop in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. We check and set up our guitars before dispatch. Contact us through Reverb with any questions.

Designed around versatility
Versatility has always been one of the defining characteristics of Pete Thorn’s signature guitars.
Pete is a working guitarist who needs to move between vastly different sounds without constantly changing instruments. His career has included work with artists such as Chris Cornell, Don Henley and Melissa Etheridge, and that real-world experience is reflected throughout the design of this guitar.
The Pete Thorn Standard HSS feels equally comfortable delivering delicate clean tones, traditional single-coil sounds, crunchy rhythm parts or powerful lead tones.
This is not simply a signature guitar with an artist’s name attached to it – it is a genuinely practical professional instrument designed around the requirements of a highly versatile working guitarist.
The Thornbucker II
The bridge pickup was developed specifically by Pete Thorn and John Suhr for this model.
The Thornbucker II is designed to combine warmth and power with excellent clarity and integrates naturally with the V63 single coils. That balance is important in an HSS guitar: switching to the bridge humbucker gives you more authority and output without making it feel as though you have suddenly switched to a completely different instrument.
The result is a bridge pickup that works beautifully for everything from classic crunch to saturated lead tones while retaining articulation and definition.
Pete Thorn 60's Soft V neck
One of the standout features of this model is its roasted maple Pete Thorn 60's Soft V neck.
Pete describes the shape as a blend of his favourite vintage '64 neck and his favourite Suhr Classic S neck. It has enough substance to feel substantial in the hand while remaining extremely comfortable across the entire fingerboard.
The 10"-14" compound radius gradually becomes flatter as you move up the neck, providing a comfortable feel for chord work in the lower positions while making bends, fast passages and lead playing effortless higher up the neck.
Combined with the Jumbo Stainless Steel frets and ebony fingerboard, this is an exceptionally smooth and precise playing guitar.
SSCII – less hum, without losing the single-coil character
The Pete Thorn Standard HSS is also equipped with Suhr’s SSCII Silent Single Coil System.
SSCII is designed to significantly reduce the unwanted hum normally associated with traditional single-coil pickups while allowing the V63 pickups to retain their natural dynamics and character.
Wilkinson tremolo with locking saddles
For the bridge, Suhr chose the Wilkinson WVS-130 2-Post Tremolo with locking saddles.
Combined with Suhr locking tuners, this provides a smooth and expressive tremolo system with the stability required from a professional stage instrument.
A professional all-rounder
The Pete Thorn Standard HSS is one of those rare guitars that manages to be extremely versatile without feeling generic.
You get authentic and dynamic single-coil tones, a powerful but articulate bridge humbucker, a beautifully comfortable roasted maple neck, ebony fingerboard, stainless steel frets, excellent tuning stability and Suhr’s exceptionally high level of fit and finish.
And in Inca Silver with the Black Pearl pickguard, it looks every bit as special as it plays.
For the player looking for one premium instrument capable of covering an enormous range of musical situations – from studio work to the stage – the Suhr Pete Thorn Standard HSS is an exceptional choice.
