This is without a doubt the best ‘58 reissue I’ve ever played or owned. it’s very resonant and easy to play. I currently have it set up with 10,5 - 48 gauge strings and low action.

Comes with all the original case documentation, yamano documents and more.

The only thing that’s debatable about this guitar is whether or not the ugly mark on the back of the headstock is a full on headstock repair, or if the guitar took a dive at some point and the paint chipped due to strain. I argue that it hasn’t been repaired, but some might disagree. It doesn’t look to me like the wood itself has separated when looking at it up close.

Original factory electronics (pots, input jack, Classic ‘57 pickups with PAF stickers) come in the case.

I replaced the pickups, pots and input jack.

The bridge pickup is a PAF prototype I was gifted from pickup/amp builder Total Gravy, based out of Fullerton, CA.

The neck pickup comes from Scott Sheldon who took over Max Guitars for Peter “Max’ Baranet after he retired. I don’t know who Scott uses for pickup, but either way these pickups are exceptional.
