This is a rare vintage treasure.  I bought this Music Man amplifier new in West Palm Beach in 1977. It is fully functional with all original hardware including tubes and speakers.  The exception is the grill cloth which was replaced with identical vintage grill cloth about 15 years ago after accidently poking a hole in the original.  I am selling the amplifier, with casters (that pop off and on, in case you want to stack the amp after moving it), the original Music Man foot switch assembly which controls Reverb and Tremolo, the original documentation and schematics, and a cover, which was sold with with the amplifier, but is shorter than the cabinet (I don’t know why).

The pristine condition of this amplifier makes it unique for amps this old. If you are a vintage collector, this one is as close to new looking as you will find.

If you are not familiar with Music Man amplifiers, these are tube amps designed by Leo Fender after his non-compete clause ended with regard to his earlier Fender amp designs. This allowed him to take what he learned in designing the classic 60s Fender amps and implement the improvements he had planned to make before selling his rights.   What you end up with is a very powerful, punchy tube amp. This is especially true in the HD 210 model, with an astonishing 130 watts of power going into to 10inch speakers .  This is a small amp, but weighs 55 lbs.

This amp has two independent input channels, one basic, and one with effects (reverb and tremolo), both controlled by a master volume.  Each channel has an input gain control which allows you drive distortion levels up or down.   This amp design is said to be a bridge between the Fender Twin Reverb and Marshalls, as it delivers the full range of Fender type tones, but can produce significant distortion and sustain using the front end gain controls. The power switch allows you to choose one of two power settings, 65 watts, or 130 watts, both of which use all of the tubes, but with the lower power achieved by reducing voltage to the tubes.  The lower power setting is actually recommended for more distortion and sustain due to the way the tubes are biased. There is a standby switch on the back (which I found inconvenient, but you get used to it.)   Artists than have used Music Man amps include Eric Clpaton and Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits).
