Epiphone JB signature the pickup les Paul custom used as a base to make a copy of an ACE FREHLEY guitar I’ve always loved. The JB was a great host for this project cause it has a mahogany top and ebony fretboard instead of the cheaper epiphones that use maple and rosewood. So it looks the part. This one also has the aged yellow binding which closely resembles the ACE guitar As it was a real ‘57 he played. The pickups are 3 dinarzio super distortions. Made in the US. The electronics are an Emerson wiring harness. The fancy CTS pots and Emerson bubble bee caps. it’s wired like the original JB model (neck/middle, bridge/bridge) even tho Ace did‘t use the middle. Grover tuners. Epiphone crème plastics from two Epiphone ‘59 les Paul’s. It’s a really nice piece that I’d love to get into the hands of a kiss fan who will appreciate it as much as me. I just had a baby so I’m making hard cuts to clear out the guitar room for the mother in laws to come stay with us.
