The Gibson ES-335 Studio represents a stripped-down interpretation of Gibson's iconic ES-335, retaining the essential semi-hollow construction and classic Gibson tone while eliminating much of the traditional ornamentation.
Built at Gibson Memphis in 2015, this Ginger Burst example features a 3-ply maple body and a comfortable Traditional "C" profile maple neck, paired with a one-piece Torrified Maple fingerboard. The 12" radius and low-profile frets provide a smooth, comfortable playing feel.
For electronics, Gibson equipped the ES-335 Studio with a '57 Classic humbucker in the neck position and a slightly hotter Super '57 Classic in the bridge. Both pickups use Alnico II magnets and deliver the warm, articulate character associated with vintage Gibson humbuckers, while the Super '57 adds additional punch and definition in the bridge position.
The 2015 model also introduced several notable updates, including a Historic Truss Rod, rolled neck binding, F-hole engraved truss rod cover, and Locking Stop Bar tailpiece. The TonePros AVR-2 bridge and locking tailpiece provide solid string-to-body contact while making string changes particularly convenient.
Finished in the distinctive Ginger Burst, this ES-335 Studio offers the classic look, feel, and versatility of a Memphis-built ES-335 in a more understated package.
