This is a Strat — but not as you know it. The Squier Contemporary Stratocaster Special HT takes the iconic platform and gives it a bold, modern reinvention aimed at adventurous players. The headline feature is its “special” pickup layout: three angled Squier SQR alnico single-coils, with the middle pickup shifted noticeably closer to the bridge, unlocking a range of tones you simply won’t find on a traditional Strat.

Wired to a custom 5-position blade switch, it delivers a genuinely versatile spread — from a hum-cancelling bridge/middle series setting (with real humbucker-style bite) to classic quacky in-between sounds and warm neck tones. A simplified master volume / master tone control layout keeps everything intuitive. The roasted maple neck is the real sleeper feature here: stable, great-feeling, and topped with a fast, modern 12” radius fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, and a sculpted heel for easy upper-fret access. Add the string-through-body hardtail bridge for solid tuning stability and resonance, plus sharp black hardware and a painted headstock, and you’ve got a striking, seriously playable guitar at a killer value.
