The ZVEX Mastotron is a highly versatile silicon fuzz pedal designed for players who want aggressive, controllable fuzz with a wide range of tonal possibilities. Based on the circuit lineage of the ZVEX Woolly Mammoth, the Mastotron uses silicon transistors and provides extensive control over the fuzz character, dynamics, frequency response, and output. Its Sub control can dramatically alter the low-frequency response, making the Mastotron particularly useful for bassists looking for powerful low-end fuzz tones.

The Mastotron features Pulse Width, Relax/Push, Sub, Tone, Fuzz, and Volume controls, allowing you to move from gated, compressed fuzz to more open and sustaining sounds. The Relax/Push control changes the interaction between the instrument and fuzz circuit, while Pulse Width adjusts the character of the fuzz response. The Sub control provides three different low-frequency settings, including a full-range mode and settings that reduce the lowest frequencies. The pedal also features a low-impedance output, making it especially useful for placing after certain pedals or controlling how the fuzz interacts with the rest of your signal chain.
