For sale: a superb 1979 US Fender Stratocaster neck with a rosewood fingerboard and mother-of-pearl inlays.

The neck is in truly superb condition for a 50-year-old piece!

Although the serial number dates from 1979, the code on the heel dates it to 1976.

Details:

The frets are worn, although the neck is playable as it is; however, refretting should be expected for a serious project. The price reflects this.

The fingerboard is a ‘contoured veener’, i.e. a contoured veneer fingerboard as Fender used to make them at the time.

It appears that the fingerboard has been ‘touched up’ at the 5th fret.

The base of the neck has been “modified” to allow for a 4-screw mounting.

The round recess for the original central mounting screw has been very neatly replaced with a piece of rosewood cut by a luthier.

If necessary, this is not irreversible, as it could be removed.

The tuning machines are brand new.

The truss rod is in perfect working order.

I bought this magnificent neck at the start of the year and set it aside, but I have to part with it, with GREAT regret!

Sold with the Fender plate and the four fixing screws.
