The NU-X Fireman is a high-gain distortion pedal from the Verdugo series, designed to emulate heavily modded amplifiers and deliver saturated, compressed "brown sound" tones. Two independent footswitches handle effect on/off and channel switching between two separate sets of Gain and Volume controls, effectively giving you a dedicated rhythm and lead distortion in a single unit. Both switches can also be operated remotely via a rear jack input.

Four tone-shaping controls — Bass, Treble, Presence, and Tight — let you dial in the frequency content precisely. A rear-mounted voltage switch multiplies the internal voltage from 9V to 18V when engaged, increasing headroom and dynamic range for a more open, responsive feel at high gain settings.

• Dual independent Gain & Volume controls (channels 1 & 2)
• Switchable internal voltage multiplier (9V–18V)
• Remote switch input jack
• Switchable buffered or true bypass
• Powered by 9V DC power supply, 150mA min, pin-negative (not included)
