EVENTIDE MISHA

Eventide's Eurorack centerpiece is Misha, a unique sequencer/full instrument that uses intervals to generate melodies, can attach to external MIDI sources, and even generates its own waveforms. Designed to be playable, the minimal interface is centered around a V-shaped series of buttons that allow for real time manipulation of a sequence. Instead of strictly adhering to keyboard-style musical conventions, Misha opts for an intervallic approach, meaning that numbers are how you decide which note goes next: 0 is your root and +/-12 is an octave, with all other notes falling somewhere in between. With Scala support, however, you can dictate how many intervals there are and what their tuning ends up being leaving you no longer beholden to equal temperament.

Misha has three sets of CV ins and outs and MIDI devices can also be sequenced. This means that your entire studio setup could revolve around a Misha and with configurable clock PPQ settings, built-in microSD card, and micro USB, Misha can expand to suit your needs. Change up your compositional life with Eventide's latest Eurorack offering: Misha.

A New Tool For Performing & Composing

Misha™ has a way of helping you discover new musical ideas, even ones you didn’t consciously create. The interval-based approach introduces a new perspective even for a trained musician, but offers the untrained a simple path to creating melodies. Create a simple melody or sequence, change the key and scale, and manipulate the pattern into a whole new creation!

Inspired by twelve-tone composition, Misha’s sequencer expands upon the tone row technique, allowing for new paths of spontaneous creativity. Modify your sequence using some of the classic techniques such as Prime, Retrograde, or Inverted playback, or completely rearrange your sequence in unpredictable and exciting ways.

Misha™ comes preloaded with a variety of scales ranging from typical Western scales, microtonal scales, scales that use just intonation, and everything in between. Additionally, two banks of User scales allow you to upload your own scales using the Scala format for further experimentation.

Load a new sequence, key, scale, and more on the fly using presets. Presets can be accessed from the dedicated preset menu or can be loaded via MIDI Program Changes from external devices, allowing Misha™ to be an essential piece of gear for live performance.
