This 1962 Martin D-18 is a solid flatpicking dreadnought. It has a fair amount of dings and scratches from player wear, but it does not have any major repairs. Impressive bass notes. Fresh neck reset!

The Rosewood peghead overlay features the “Martin & Co. EST. 1833” decal at the top. Appears to be exact copy replacement closed-back Kluson tuners in great shape. Bone nut. The Rosewood fingerboard has graduated pearl dot inlays and cream side dot position markers. Frets are in fantastic shape with no sign of player wear. The slim rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck has a few dings but they aren’t noticeable while playing.

The Spruce top has a Rosewood bridge with Rosewood pins and a bone saddle. The soundhole has the “18-style” soundhole rosette. Tortoise pickguard. Tortoise bindings with four lines of black and white alternating purfling next to the tortoise binding on the Spruce top edge. The back has single tortoise binding layer. The Spruce top has two noticeable scratch marks. One is in between the bridge and soundhole, and the other is on the treble side of the top near the bottom binding. The pickguard shows an inner and an outer slight pickguard crack. The top also has some polite finish checking. The Mahogany back and sides have slight scratches from player wear, but they do not appear to have any cracks or crack repairs. Rosewood endpin.

This 1962 Martin D-18 has very little player wear and is in great shape overall, especially considering it is 64 years old. No major repairs or issues. Good tone and playability. Comes with a period correct hard case.
