8-string Tenor/Octave Mandolin conversion of Yamaha FG-JR2
Here's a fun little converted Yamaha FG-JR2. This guitar has been set up to play as an 8-string tenor guitar or as an octave mandolin, depending on how you choose to string and tune it.
Currently set up as a double-strung tenor guitar tuned CGDA with extra light strings, this little beauty absolutely sings. Just a lovely tone and a long sustain that seems to end up harmonizing with itself when you hit a chord and let it ring but is still nimble enough for fast strumming. These also play great in GDAE, and I'm happy to change the setup before shipping for $25, or I do have others posted that are tuned that way.
The underlying guitar is in great structural condition with a working truss rod, decent action, and room on the saddle. Cosmetically the guitar has various nicks, dings, scuffs, and scrapes, including a few to the headstock from the conversion.
Your chance for a fantastic playing instrument with an unique sound at a quite affordable price.
Gig bags are readily available online, or I can include one for another $25.
Ships fast, well protected, and fully insured.
