Alongside the OD-1, a defining classic distortion from BOSS!

A rare transitional example: a 1981, paper-serial unit made in Taiwan. During the early 1980s, DS-1 and SD-1 units were briefly produced in Taiwan for a short window. This particular unit also has a genuinely unique multi-layered white body shell. Its moderately gritty, hard-rock-friendly distortion and wide-range tone circuit have earned fans among big names like Gary Moore, Steve Vai, and Kurt Cobain. The tone is quite different from a current-production DS-1 - this one leans rounder and evokes 1980s hard rock more directly. Shows general signs of use throughout, but functions with no issues.
