Built to Play Fast — The Neck and Body

The SR300E's 5-piece maple and walnut bolt-on neck is one of the standout features of the whole SR line. The multi-piece construction adds stiffness and helps resist warping over time, and the SR neck profile is famously slim — players coming from a guitar background often find it immediately comfortable. The nut width comes in at 38mm, which keeps string spacing tight and the neck easy to wrap your hand around.

The Jatoba fretboard offers a slightly harder, denser playing surface than rosewood, with a smooth feel under your fingers and white dot inlays for clean, no-fuss position markers. With 24 medium frets and a 34" standard scale, you get a full tonal range from deep lows all the way up the neck. The arched Nyatoh body keeps the overall weight down, making this a comfortable bass for longer sets.

Tonal Flexibility — The Pickups and Electronics

The SR300E runs a pair of PowerSpan Dual Coil humbuckers — passive pickups with exposed pole pieces that Ibanez designed to push a stronger signal and extend high-frequency response without losing that low-end foundation. The result is a clear, articulate tone that holds up well across styles.

Where things get interesting is the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ combined with the 3-way Power Tap switch. The Power Tap lets you switch between a full humbucking voice, a tapped single-coil sound, and a blended mode that combines single-coil clarity with humbucker low-end. That's a lot of tonal range on a single switch. The sweepable 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble) gives you precise control on top of that. Whether you want a warm, round fingerstyle tone or something punchier for a pick attack, you can dial it in.

The Accu-cast B120 bridge keeps string spacing consistent at 19mm and provides solid intonation and sustain transfer.
