Warm Audio TB12 Tone Beast Mic Preamp — 312-Style, CineMag Transformers
Professional single-channel discrete microphone preamp with extensive tone-shaping options. The TB12 is based around a classic 312-style American preamp design and uses CineMag transformers, with up to 71 dB of gain.
Features include selectable 1731-style and 918-style discrete op-amps, switchable steel or 50% nickel CineMag output transformers, transformer bypass, selectable capacitor voicing, 150/600Ω input impedance, -20 dB pad, 80 Hz high-pass filter, polarity reverse, +48V phantom power, and output attenuation for driving the preamp into saturation while controlling the final output level. It also has front-panel XLR mic and 1/4" Hi-Z inputs, rear XLR/TRS connections, and a 1/4" insert for external processing.
A particularly versatile preamp for vocals, guitars, bass, drums, synths, ribbons, and other sources. Can be used clean and punchy or driven for thicker harmonic coloration and saturation.
