Schecter Avenger Standard Electric Guitar

The Schecter Avenger Standard is proof that professional-grade tone, playability, and style don't have to cost a fortune. At $399, it's one of the most talked-about guitars in its price class — a legitimate stage and studio weapon dressed in an aggressively modern silhouette. Whether you're a first-time buyer stepping up to a serious instrument or a working player hunting for a dependable second axe, the Avenger Standard earns every dollar of its ask.

"I've yet to find a bad Schecter. Action is PERFECT out of the box. The pickups on this thing are amazing." — Verified buyer   Bold Body Construction

The Avenger Standard's foundation is a mahogany body topped with a striking flamed maple cap. The mahogany delivers the warm low-mids and natural sustain that rock and metal players live for, while the maple top layers in articulate highs that keep notes defined even under heavy gain. The result is a tonewood combination long favored by premium guitar makers — now available at an accessible entry point.

The body's distinctive offset silhouette isn't just for looks. Its contoured design distributes weight comfortably whether you're standing on a lit stage or seated in a late-night writing session. Available in two finishes — the dramatic Blood Burst and the understated Charcoal Satin — the Avenger Standard lets you telegraph your personality before you play a single note.

A Neck Built for Speed

Schecter spec'd the Avenger Standard with a roasted maple neck — a premium process that stabilizes the wood against humidity and temperature swings, improves tonal clarity, and provides a silky-smooth feel under the hand. The Thin "C" neck profile is fast and unobtrusive, equally suited to wide chord voicings and blazing single-note runs.

The rosewood fretboard adds organic warmth, while 24 jumbo frets over a 14" radius give you the full upper register without the cramped feel of a tighter curve. White Pearloid Reverse Wave inlays add visual flair that matches the guitar's overall aggressive aesthetic. Setup arrives from the factory with action that players consistently describe as spot-on right out of the box.

Pickups That Punch Above Their Price

At the heart of the Avenger Standard's voice are two Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers — high-output passive pickups designed for clarity at any gain level. Clean tones stay articulate and defined. Pushed through gain, these pickups deliver tight, punchy distortion ideal for hard rock, metal, and everything in between. A 3-way toggle switch with individual volume and master tone controls gives you fast access to your core sounds without menu-diving.

Hardware That Holds

Tuning stability is handled by a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tailpiece — a time-tested platform known for excellent intonation, comfortable string spacing, and efficient vibration transfer into the body. A 42mm graphite nut reduces friction at the nut slots for smoother bends and more reliable tuning return. Black hardware across the board ties the whole instrument together with a sleek, no-nonsense look.
