Few guitars embody the golden era of Gibson archtops quite like the ES-175. Introduced in 1949, the ES-175 became the benchmark for jazz guitar and has been played by legends including Joe Pass, Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Herb Ellis, Steve Howe, and countless studio musicians. Natural-finish examples were produced in significantly smaller numbers than sunburst models, making clean, original examples especially desirable among collectors.

This guitar is an outstanding example, remaining in excellent to near-mint condition after more than six decades. The original nitrocellulose lacquer has beautifully ambered over time, showcasing the figured maple throughout the body while retaining remarkable gloss and exceptionally light cosmetic wear.

Equally impressive is its originality. It retains its original Gibson Patent Number humbucking pickups, original Brazilian rosewood adjustable bridge, original zig-zag trapeze tailpiece, original Kluson Deluxe tuners, original reflector knobs, and original multi-ply pickguard.
