The JP15 is Music Man's answer to "what if a guitar could do everything?" It comes loaded with DiMarzio Illuminator humbuckers, an active preamp with push/pull coil-split, and a piezo bridge — meaning you get Strat-like clarity, humbucker punch, and acoustic-leaning texture all from one instrument, without swapping guitars mid-set.
The output design takes that even further: it has both mono and stereo jacks. Run mono and blend the magnetic and piezo signals into one amp, or run stereo and send them completely separately — piezo to an acoustic amp or DI, magnetic pickups to your regular rig, at the same time. And when you need more push, the push/push volume knob adds a 20dB gain boost on demand, no pedal required.
Every JP15 comes out of Music Man's San Luis Obispo, California factory, where hand-craftsmanship (hand-leveled frets, hand-soldered electronics, hand-selected tonewoods) meets precision manufacturing — not an overseas import shortcut. It's the kind of build quality that shows up in how well these guitars hold their value used.
Ergonomically, it's one of the most comfortable guitars I've played: lightweight, balanced on a strap, and shaped so hours of playing don't turn into hours of fighting the instrument.
This one has spent its whole life in my personal studio — no gig wear, no stage abuse, just carefully played and cared for. The Sahara Burst Quilt top is stunning in person.
Condition notes, fully disclosed: There is a hair-thin crack in the finish at the neck pocket — cosmetic only, in the lacquer, not the wood, and barely visible in person. Everything else is clean and well cared for. Comes strung with .009-.046 and a fresh battery installed; piezo and all electronics tested and working perfectly.
I'm selling this because it deserves to be played more than I've played it. It's a phenomenal instrument, built to the highest standard — but my own playing has been drifting toward a more vintage, passive-pickup sound, and the JP15's voicing is distinctly modern. Less a reflection on the guitar, more on where my ear is headed. It's ready for someone who'll put that modern versatility to work.
Happy to answer any questions or send more photos/detail shots — no rush on my end.
