What can we say? This guitar swings and it jazzes. The Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II is a wonderful jazz guitar and a truly beautiful instrument in excellent condition.
As far as we can tell, it remains in its original condition. It was built in 2005 at the Korean Unsung factory, which is known for its very good build quality.
Even played acoustically, it surprises with a fresh, percussive response and beautiful resonance. Amplified, it does exactly what you would expect from a large hollowbody: wonderfully clear, warm and balanced – just right for jazz, blues, as well as relaxed swing and soul sounds.
The glued-in three-piece maple neck feels comfortable in the hand and plays very smoothly. We carefully leveled several frets, then polished all frets and gave the guitar a complete setup. It is fitted with a set of .010 flatwound strings, which suit the character of this instrument perfectly.
The condition is excellent. It shows hardly any signs of use, the frets are in very good condition, and a matching case is also included.
An excellent jazz guitar – not only for beginners, but also for experienced players looking for a high-quality hollowbody at an attractive price.
