This guitar known as "Melon" is right in the 59 sweet spot #9 2179. Tons of the most famous & desirable 59 Bursts have come out of this serial range, including the sequential sister to this guitar that we sold a few years back, Lorelei #9 2180.
Melon is an incredible example overall with a stunning and unique quarter sawn maple top! The grain is undeniably beautiful straight on and pops with figure at other angles. Incredible!
Melon is a lightweight example coming in at 8 lbs 7 oz. It features POWERFUL sealed PAF's that meter 8.36 N & 8.47 B respectively. The neck is juicy, full and inviting measuring .91 @ 1st & 1.00 @ 12th! This Burst was recently fretted and plek'd at Glaser's in Nashville. To say that it plays well is silly, it's perfect.
This is an investment grade 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard that plays like a dream!
