Up for sale is an incredible 2021 Gibson Custom Shop M2M (Made to Measure) J-185 with a lively Red Spruce/ Adirondack top in a gorgeous Vintage Sunburst with East Indian Rosewood back and sides.

This is an incredible guitar. It sounds as fantastic as it looks. Crystal clear and as loud or quiet as you want it. This guitar is an absolute cannon when you dig in but can settle down when a delicate touch is preferred and really purrs when finger picked.

The red spruce top combined with the rosewood back and sides creates a tone you would expect from a larger body guitar without any muddy sounds when you dig in and need more volume. This guitar is well suited for finger picking, flat picking or strumming and seems to excel at all of the above in my experience. It has an unreal amount of headroom and projection.

Gibson is known for their burst finishes snd this J-185 here is no exception! The paint and nitro are very thin and you can actually see the wood grain through the finish. The burst itself is really gorgeous. I also want to point out that the Rosewood on the back and sides looks darker to me in person than some of the pictures illustrate. If this is a potential concern for you, message me and I’ll get some better pics to you.

The guitar is in excellent condition and has been well cared for and lovingly played. Stored in the humidified OHSC when not in use. There are signs of play and some minor bumps but mostly just surface scratches. Nothing effecting playability or tone. I tried to get pictures from every angle but it you’d like more just let me know. The original hard case is included and is in good condition...a little banged on but structurally and functionally fine.

Please see the last couple pictures with the factory spec sheet from Gibson. Please note, the factory TUSQ bridge pins are included, but they have been replaced with bone pins to match the saddle and nut. Also, the factory pickup has been upgraded to an LR Baggs HiFi system. To be honest I didn’t notice any tone difference with the bone pins, but I left them because I preferred the way they look. If you disagree the originals are included. The Baggs HiFi is an obvious upgrade over the factory under saddle system and sounds and works great.
