CERTIFIED!!! SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS SIX TRAK V14 UPGRADED FULLY SERVICED IN AMAZING CONDITION!

UPGRADE:

Replaced EPROM with most current OS (v14). Original had version 11 installed

V14 features:

1) Unison detune has been added. To allow storing the setting with the patch, I used the Oscillator Fine Tune parameter to control the

detune amount. If the patch does not enable Unison mode, or if MIDI mode 4 is selected, this parameter works normally. When detune is

enabled, oscillator fine tune amount is set to 0.

2) Patches can now be selected using the value pot. In Program Select mode, the value pot will now scroll through the programs as it is

turned. Two ranges are used. 0-59 and 40-99. When the pot is turned two steps beyond 59, the high range is selected. When it's turned

two steps below 40, we switch back to the low range. This may seem a little odd, but trying to cover the entire 0-99 range with the pot

made the steps too close together and hard to control. Patches can also be selected using the keypad, as before.

3) A new parameter (front panel #37 or MIDI #39) has been added. It's global, and is not stored with each patch. In fact, it's reset at

power up. This parameter has three values, 0, 1, and 2. When it's set to 0, all voice LFO's behave normally. When it's set to 1, all voice

LFO's are reset to the "no modulation" state when the voice is assigned. When it's set to 2, all voice LFO's are set to the "full

modulation" state when the voice is assigned. So this parameter allows the LFO's to sync to the start of a new note. It can be controlled

using MIDI, the same as other parameters, but there is only one of them, not one per voice. So all voices will have the same setting.

SERVICE HISTORY: I am sure that if you are looking at this item, you know everything about it. So, I will first tell you about this particular gem:

IT HAS JUST BEEN FULLY INSPECTED/SERVICED AND IS READY FOR A NEW HOME! 

The following services were just done, which cost us over $950!!! 

IF you find another one for less than what ours is selling for, and since most of the used ones out there, that are supposed to be "fully functional", turn out NOT to be; you will then need to find someone who would work on these (which is very hard nowadays), and then who knows how much it would cost to make it fully functional??! Especially since these synths are now over 42 years old! Which means unless they had just been serviced, hardly any of them would be fully functional; and CONDITION IS EVERYTHING!

SERVICES DONE:

• Full inspection
• Load tested for 2 hours
• Fabricated three (3) new switches and placed on Program, Parameter, and Value locations
• Factory reset performed
• All original factory presets re-programmed
• Replaced EPROM with most current OS (v14). Original had version 11 installed
• Cleaned all elastomeric switches with soapy water and cleaned carbon contacts with 91% alcohol
• Cleaned and lubricated all potentiometers with Deoxit F5 Fader Lube
• Calibrated. DAC Trim – Adjusted DAC offset to 0v per page 6 of Service Manual. Verified tuning. Initialized pitch wheel calibration per service manual.
• Replaced missing screw for PCB to case
• Fresh board battery installed
• Cleaned PCB with 91% alcohol
• Key-bed serviced and replaced missing mounting bracket
• Replaced Power Cable
• All switches serviced
• All contacts cleaned
• All buttons serviced
• Cleaned

It was originally priced at $1295.00 US in 1984, which in today’s money comes to over $4000!!! So, at this price, and in this condition; IT IS A BARGAIN!!!

SOME SELLING POINTS:

(A professional review from the web) The Sequential Six-Trak turns out to be a brilliant musical instrument. Despite its small size, it is capable of stunning, great, modular-like, powerful electronic sounds. It offers 100 memories (factory presets by John Bowen), its keyboard action is very pleasant (a billion times better than any Pro-One keyboard), it has 6 voices and is multi-timbral. Its vast sound architecture sports 3 (!) fully equipped envelopes (digital, sadly), filter-FM, and much more. And… the Six-Trak has MIDI!

MIDI? It’s not an ordinary note-on/off communication bus, but a powerful MIDI implementation with Midi CC-features for all parameters. And it’s so easy to handle! Just tell your sequencer which CC-number needs to be controlled, and there you go! With those great MIDI facilities, the Six-Trak comes close to a small modular system. And, in some ways, it’s even much better! Attack-time, decay, filter resonance, mix of osc/noise signal, amount of filter-FM… it’s all CC-controllable! It’s really amazing. I’m always a little critical toward vintage MIDI (analog) synths, but this one is a cracker! It’s easy to handle, and it’s definitely a creative musical instrument!

Soundwise, it’s an amalgam of many of its predecessors. Unison sounds remind you of the classic Prophet-5, while many of the unexpected, crazy-effect sounds remind you of the Pro-One. Lead sounds are wonderful, so… to make it short… this IS a serious, fully equipped Sequential synth with many pros. Unlike its older brothers (except the Prophet-600), it has six voices, is fully MIDI equipped, and has enormous sonical potential despite its small size. On the other hand, it’s lacking Poly Modulation, and has no CV-inputs (such as filter cv-in or cv/gate). The missing inputs, of course, don’t really hurt, due to the comprehensive MIDI options. The hardware is typical for those early/mid 80s Sequential keyboards – semi-professional knobs (like those of the Prophet-600 and Pro-One), rubber buttons (which might eventually occasionally refuse to work), plus a slimmed-down chassis that contains a four-octave keyboard with the controller section above the keys (and not to the left).

The Six-Trak features two operational modes: Polyphonic Mode and Unison Mode. In Unison mode, with all six oscillators, this baby gets fat, rich, creamy and wild making it an excellent stand-in for Moog-like sounds. Also, the Six-Trak is capable of interesting and complex sound effects, mostly thanks to useful cross modulation and the six oscillators. It also includes a simple 6-channel on-board sequencer 

To me, the Six-Trak is a pretty-near-perfect instrument for the creative sound enthusiast. If I was one of those ancient, Greek semi-gods – sitting around on a cloud for thousands of years – I’d immediately buy a Six-Trak. It’s so much fun, and it’s amazingly flexible. On top of everything else, it’s the perfect instrument to carry around, weighing slightly more than a bar of chocolate …

When you're buying a vintage (or just a used) car, does the condition matter? Of course it does! 😊 Are two used cars that are the same make and model the same? Would all similar (year, make and model) cars sell at the same price? No; there are many factors that would decide what price they fetch. Mileage, body, functionality, extra options, service history, past use... and one of the most important ones is CONDITION, which is everything! That is the reason a factory certified used Mercedes, fetches at least $4000 more, than the one you'd buy from a private seller you find on Craigslist.😊That's why when it comes to buying a used car, price is not everything... And buying a secondhand synthesizer, is no different than purchasing a vintage or used car.
Yes, I'm proud of my children for sure. Mainly because when it comes to used keyboards and synths (just like used cars), condition is EVERYTHING! I have searched hard, hand-picked and collected only the best of the best that are in pristine condition (majority of them); and then had them professionally inspected, serviced/repaired (if needed), reprogrammed/restored (if needed), detailed... 
There's definitely value in that. On average, we spend about 5 hours on every single keyboard, before offering it for sale, and if they're not serviced, or if they don't pass the inspection, WE DON’T SELL THEM! We believe in selling ONLY high-quality items, to ensure that our clients are very happy with their purchase, which produces repeats, referrals and customers for life! 😁Not to mention the professional musicians that need to count on their instrument's reliability, as their livelihood depends on it. We have the biggest respect/admiration for the professional musicians, and want them to have peace of mind when they step on the stage…
In contrast, when it comes to USED GEAR FROM OTHER SOURCES, including the major retailers, you'd have to keep your fingers crossed until it arrives... And most often, they are NOT WHAT THEY WERE DESCRIBED TO BE, and most often, there is something wrong with the gear (as I am sure you, just like me, have experienced many times before). And often enough turn into headaches or heartaches...
