1962 Gibson ES-120T with original case
Serial Number 420528
In excellent condition, 100 percent original. Neck is straight, string height is low and very playable. Bridge has plenty of adjustment range either up or down. The finish on top has typical lacquer checking for this age Gibson, and only one minor ding on the left upper bout (see photos) Finish on sides and back is also in near perfect condition with the same lacquer checking. Neck is thin profile, typical of this era Gibson, truss rod works fine. Fingerboard and frets show little or no wear. Headstock features original 3-in-line Kluson tuners, in amazing working order for their age. There are a few very minor dings near the edges of the headstock (see photos). The plastic pickup control assembly is in very good condition, no cracks, just some light wear, original controls and knobs, all original wiring. Control pots are slightly loose. The pickup sounds rich and full, very good tone for a single-coil unit, both volume and tone controls work perfectly despite the pots being a bit loose. The original chipboard case is in fair condition, but all the latches are functional and the lid closes just fine. The inner box cover could use some adhesive to keep it in place. This guitar is an excellent example of Gibson's fine workmanship from the early 60's, and yes, the lacquer has THAT smell.
