This is a special guitar and I have added some very nice upgrades to it. Ultimately, extended range is not working for me anymore. Initially I was super impressed by this guitars design and overall fit and finish. Additionally the figuring on the neck is beautiful - not to mention the fretboard is more unique compared to others. It is also very light for an 8 string, right at 7.5 lbs. I planned to keep this instrument and was meticulous in my efforts with it. It’s a solid, amazing sounding, light weight and ergonomic machine. It stays in tune and resonates well while being nice to look at. It plays and feels nicer than my RGD7 Prestige I had. Ready to go out of the box. Now for the upgrades/modifications I did.
- Professional Setup and Install.
- Abasi Strings
- Graph Tech XL Tusq Nut
- Swapped White Pickups for Black
- Polished the Gold Saddles to Chrome
- Genuine Metal Ibanez Silver Volume Knob
- Gotoh 510 Tuners w/ 21:1 Ratio
- Strap Locks
- Wheel weights inside cavities to improve neck dive (minimal)
- Ibanez RoadTour case
*I did add HipShot Industrial style tuning pegs to reduce weight. Obviously you lose quick/easy string changes as the 510’s are non locking. So I will include the original Gotoh ones as well as the original Ibanez nut. Also, there is a small blemish in the finish that was there when I got it as a new (demo) instrument.
