Excellent,
Includes box and extras, upgraded heavy duty davies knob (ncludes original knob as well)
Factory built by frequency central.
- REAL ARP 4023 DNA. Based on the filter used in the original whiteface ARP Odyssey Mk1—not a random low-pass filter wearing an “ARP-style” label.
- 12dB/OCT OTA LOW-PASS. Fast, cutting, alive. Less polite than thick 24dB ladder filters; better when the patch must stay sharp and moving.
- PURE ARP AUDIO PATH. Frequency Central retained the important ARP signal circuit instead of redesigning the section that creates the actual filter character.
- OLD PARTS: GONE. OLD SOUND: KEPT. The original rare components and matched-transistor requirement were removed from the CV section and replaced with a Roland-style control circuit. Easier parts. Cleaner implementation. No need to butcher the ARP audio path.
- THE ORIGINAL RESONANCE FLAW IS FIXED. Straight schematic copies can clip badly when resonance is pushed high. Whiteface changes the problem resistor value, making the full resonance range usable instead of giving you a knob that becomes ugly past “8.”
- RESONANCE GOES TO SELF-OSCILLATION. Push it hard and the filter becomes a sine source—not just a tone-shaping box.
- CALIBRATABLE 1V/OCT RESPONSE. Feed pitch CV into CV input 1, open its attenuator, then trim the self-oscillating filter to track musical octaves. Filter becomes oscillator. Caveman simple. Technically serious.
- BUILT FOR EURORACK LEVELS. A hardwired vintage-synth circuit cannot simply be copied and dumped into a modular rack. Whiteface adds an output buffer plus gain to bring the signal up properly.
- INVERTED OUTPUT = SECRET SECOND FILTER MODE. Mix the dry input with the inverted low-pass output at the correct level and phase cancellation creates high-pass filtering. One core. More patch territory.
- LM13700 OTA CORE. Common, available silicon replaces unobtainium nonsense. Easier to maintain. Easier to repair. Still built around the correct filter architecture.
- 8HP. ONLY 35MM DEEP. Full vintage-derived VCF architecture without eating the rack.
- TINY POWER LOAD. Just 6mA at +12V, 7mA at −12V, and 0mA at +5V. Almost nothing demanded from the case supply.
- WHY BASIC CLONES LOSE: they copy the old circuit—including its weaknesses. Whiteface keeps the ARP audio path, removes difficult CV components, corrects the resonance failure, buffers the output for modular level and unlocks high-pass patches through signal inversion.
- ARP bite. Modern Eurorack control. Full-range resonance. Self-oscillation. Pitch tracking. No obsolete-parts worship. No lazy-clone defects.
Shipping only $16.95 as I am splitting the actual cost of shipping with you.
Gorgeous legendary VCF, rare unit.
Enjoy life!
