Gibson shipping statistics for the ES-355TD-SV are available from the year of the models inception (1959) and up until 1979. Translucent Cherry was the standard finish initially, with Walnut, Antique Sunburst, and Wine Red becoming available later. Shipping figures also show small numbers of White, Ebony and Natural instruments shipped in the 1970s. There were most likely more shipped in the 1960s, however pre-1969 shipping figures do not always specify color. There is no mention in any Gibson literature of the availability of these finishes, however custom order guitars in these (and potentially other) colors are possible, if not likely. The total ES-355TD-SV production in the period 1959-1979 was 3725 instruments - with the peak year being 1973 (333 guitars out of which 172 were cherry), followed by 1976 (304 guitars). It is hard to be certain about finish numbers, but it would seem that Cherry is the most abundant finish, followed closely by Walnut and finally Wine Red. All other finishes can be considered uncommon.
