Gibson Les Paul Recording 1971 - Walnut
A distinctive and increasingly collectible 1971 Gibson Les Paul Recording in Walnut finish, serial number 173362.
Developed around Les Paul’s preference for exceptional clarity and tonal control, the Recording model is one of the most technically ambitious guitars Gibson produced during the era. Its low-impedance pickups and extensive electronics offer a remarkably broad range of sounds, from warm and rounded to bright, articulate, and studio-clean.
The control system includes volume, bass and treble controls, pickup selection, phase switching, tone-routing options, impedance selection, and Gibson’s multi-position Decade control. This gives the guitar considerably more tonal flexibility than a conventional Les Paul and makes it equally suited to recording, experimentation, and live use.
Visually, the guitar has the unmistakable character of the early Recording models: Walnut finish, bound single-cutaway body, bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, split-diamond headstock inlay, Grover tuners, oval pickup surrounds, and the large black control panel that defines the model.
The electronics have been tested and are working properly. The guitar has no known repairs. Its cosmetic condition is represented clearly in the photographs.
Includes the pictured vintage orange-lined hardshell case.
