Here for your consideration are a pair of microphones that need no introduction. This small diaphragm cardioid microphone, The Neumann KM 84, was built until 1992 and remains one of the most popular Neumann classics. Its even frequency response and consistent pickup pattern make it a sought-after microphone for all genres. This is the microphone that helped originate 48v Phantom Power, and were made in Germany until they were discontinued .
This pair is an excellent example of its kind. dating most likely from the Late 70’s to Mid-80’s. These microphones have been workhorses in studios all over the world. This is the KMi variation that uses standard XLR. These mics are clean, crisp, clear, and give a very professional sounding end result. I mostly used these as drum overheads, and golly, they never disappointed. However Ive had great success using them in multiple other ways. Both mics are in great shape, although one lost its Neumann logo diamond badge at some point over its life. Both come with their original clips, which you don’t see very often these days. Both work and function perfectly.
Shipping costs cover the fully insured packing and shipping of these high-dollar vintage microphones. Please contact me with any questions you have prior to buying. These are also listed for sale locally. Prefer cash sale, but always willing to entertain trades. Mainly interested in vintage/custom guitars and basses from Gibson, PRS, & Fender. Would also trade for certain Klon “Horsies.” Cheers!
