A full-size dreadnought acoustic guitar designed for players who want powerful projection, warm mahogany tone, and refined Yamaha craftsmanship.
Solid spruce top delivers strong projection and responsive acoustic tone
Mahogany back and sides add warmth, depth, and balanced midrange character
Dreadnought body shape provides full low-end response and strong projection
Scalloped bracing enhances resonance and tonal balance
Brown Sunburst finish delivers a classic vintage-inspired appearance
The Yamaha FG820 builds on the proven FG platform with upgraded mahogany back and sides that add warmth, depth, and a fuller overall response. Its solid spruce top delivers articulate projection and responsive dynamics that work equally well for strumming, singer-songwriter playing, and everyday acoustic use.
Yamaha’s scalloped bracing design helps the guitar feel more resonant and open while maintaining clarity and note separation across the fretboard. The traditional dreadnought body shape also provides the strong low-end presence and projection many players look for in a versatile steel-string acoustic.
Comfortable, dependable, and easy to settle into, the FG820 offers a balanced acoustic voice with a warmer tonal character than the FG800 series while maintaining Yamaha’s long-standing reputation for consistency and playability.
