You are looking at a classic 2000 era model Shure Brothers 55SH dynamic cardioid microphone set at low impedance with a smooth warm tone making this one of the best dynamic cardioid mics of it's time and has a timeless design. The mic comes with the original black vinyl mic pouch shown in which to store. Pic # 2 shows the older original 55SH from the 1970's before the mic was discontinued. It was reintroduced around 2000 and came with the newer cardioid dynamic element that you see in the Super 55 model mic. Pic # 4 shows that actual element in this very mic I'm selling. Pic # 5 & 6 shows a fake Chinese Shure 55SH with the generic element on the right side. You can see the obvious difference and those fake mics sound absolutely terrible. Do yourself a favor and avoid ever buying them here on Ebay. Pic # 3 shows the actual Shure website screen shot. The 55SH has been discontinued and Shure no longer sells them. If anybody on this site is selling "new in box" or "new opened box" Shure 55SH mics...they are absolutely fake counterfeit models made in China. Several scammers here on Ebay selling new and used counterfeit 55SH Series II model mics brand new with all the accessories for under $150.00. The chrome bodies are on the fake mics are polished. Shure never sold the 55SH with a polished chrome finish. Only the satin chrome finish. If you are unsure of your 55SH simply unscrew the 4 small screws that hold the front grill onto the mic and take a look inside. It only takes 20 seconds to do. If it's a fake 55SH return the mic for a full refund. The seller cannot dismiss your right to return it. Anyways, this newer example is not a counterfeit and is pretty nice despite the lite cosmetic wear. This actual 55SH is an older example. Probably 20 years old as I had to replace the inner foam screens. They were getting old and had issues. When Shure finally started selling the "Super 55" again in the early 2000's it had a completely different element from the original Shure 55S model with slightly stronger output but the overall design was the same as the 55SH. The 55SH simply kept the classic vintage chrome with black foam screens color combo that many prefer over the royal blue screens that come with the Super 55 model. When Shure Brothers sold the 55SH it was slightly improved from the previous 55S & 55SW model which still incorporated the old 3 pin screw on type cable which had outlived it's use and wasn't very practical. The newer 55SH finally had the modern XLR attachment. The 55SH did away with the impedance switch as well. It should be noted that this mic has an excellent working dynamic cardioid element with strong output and works perfectly. Perfect for singing and broadcasting with a 100% signal. This mic will not disappoint. The uni-directional characteristics on these mics are outstanding drowning out most background noise. As seen in the pictures provided the the satin chrome shows very lite cosmetic wear in the form of lite pitting in one spot and some scuff marks. Otherwise, quite nice. There are zero bent or fractured ribs on this mic. The Shure label looks very nice as well. Overall this mic is a conservative 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. This mic is solid...no loose parts inside or out. Again, I did have to replace the inner foam screens as the originals were in rough shape and needed to go. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The threads for the stand are excellent and the joint mechanism holds strong. This 55SH will screw onto any desk or floor stand you wish to use. The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not provided. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned ensuring a perfect signal once the cable is attached. A nice black Shure vinyl mic pouch is included to store the mic in. it's in excellent condition and the zipper works great.
