Selmer AS500 Alto Saxophone – Excellent Condition, Freshly Serviced, Perfectly In Tune, Ready to Play, Priced to SellThis Selmer AS500 alto is in overall excellent condition and sounds fantastic. What keeps it from near mint is normal cosmetic wear — scratches and scuffs from regular use. There are no dings or dents. None of that affects the sound. It went through a professional service a few days ago, I play tested it several times after that, and it’s in tune. Tone holes are in great shape. Pads seal evenly with no air leaks. The tone is warm and centered with solid projection, that familiar Selmer USA alto voice that works well in band. The keywork feels even under the fingers. Springs come back quickly without feeling stiff, soft notes speak cleanly, and the upper end stays focused instead of thinning out. After the service and those extra play tests, it feels finished. You can put a reed on and play right away. The AS500 is Selmer’s student/intermediate alto, the model a lot of advancing players and school programs use when they want the Selmer name without a Paris horn price. Reliable pitch, a solid build, and a sound that holds up day after day. A clean example with only minor cosmetic marks and no dents is better than the usual ones that have been passed around.Three brand new Vandoren reeds are included. If you’re looking for an excellent AS500 that’s already been serviced and checked more than once, this one is a solid option. It’s priced to sell. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
