PRS S2 Special SemiHollow Reclaimed Limited Edition Electric Guitar.
This limited edition of 700 units features reclaimed and recycled woods in one of PRS’s most versatile models: the S2 Special SemiHollow. Each top has its own unique character and has been left as natural as possible, making every instrument one of a kind. This individuality, combined with a wide tonal range—from the articulate brightness of single-coils to the warmth of vintage-inspired humbuckers—results in a truly special instrument.
The woods used in this model include a peroba rosa top, Cuban mahogany neck, and guaribu preto fingerboard. Peroba rosa, typically used for paneling in Brazil, has been selected for the top. The density of this wood—aged between 100 and 150 years—combined with the semi-hollow body construction, gives the S2 Special SemiHollow Reclaimed a unique voice: powerful, warm, and full. The Cuban mahogany used for the necks was sourced in Puerto Rico, with some of it reclaimed from trees felled by Hurricane Maria in 2017. Meanwhile, the guaribu preto fingerboards come from Brazil, where this wood was historically used as structural support beams in homes.
These guitars feature a natural satin nitrocellulose finish. Any nail holes, wear marks, or discoloration in the wood have been intentionally preserved to showcase its history.
