Supersensitve Luddy 14 x 5 LM410 Super Sensitive Chrome Over Aluminum Snare Drum from the 1984 production switch of company moving from Chicago to N.C. that’s in very good to excellent condition. ***Priced at the cost because and the rarity of the apparent badge placement, Chicago i.d. and year, and thatthese are die cast hoops and not the triple flanged. ***It is a Chicago drum with the large Keystone badge (Badge says “Chicago” on it, which means it was made in the roughly one year between ’83-’84 that Ludwig switched from the blue/olive badge to the large keystone. 1) the badge says ‘Chicago’ on it. In 1984 production moved to NC after which all badges were ‘Monroe’ badges, not 'Chicago.' There is only about 1 year of production of large keystone badges labeled “Chicago.”2) the top of the keystone badge is tucked up under the batter head’s hoop. This is because the shell was created with the previous blue/olive badge in mind (the hole is at the top of that badge). The large keystone badge has the hole much lower, so when fit to a drum machined for a B/O badge it sits high on the shell. This was corrected once production depleted the remaining earlier shells.***I tried tweaking the throwoff more to adjusting the snares, but I believe this to be the original throwoff snare wires because its stretched and may need a new throwoff. Its a great recording snare, certainly to my ears comparable to a Black BeautyThis snare is still in great condition with minimal wear.Been used in my studio only. The drum has (very minor) pitting, and/or rust in one or two spots, and works perfectly and without any flaws in it’s performance. It also boasts new Evans heads, and die cast hoops which provides additional strength, and consistency of tuning & tone. Enjoy! Will ship as soon as same day, no later than next day.
