About this listing
The Gibson Custom Shop / Kirk Hammett Greeny 1959 Les Paul Standard Greeny Burst Murphy Lab Aged is now in stock, used!! Serial No.: 932101, built in 2023. A key characteristic of the "Greeny" sound is that the neck pickup has reversed polarity, causing the signal to go out of phase when the pickup selector switch is set to the middle position. The Gibson Custom Shop Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard not only reproduces this sonic characteristic but also features an artistic aging process by Murphy Lab, giving it the same look and feel as the original. Featuring an Indian rosewood fingerboard, this model delivers the magic of "Greeny" to players around the world. It comes with a brown exterior/pink interior Lifton reissue case. It features a selected figured maple top with a grain pattern closely resembling the original "Greeny," a one-piece mahogany back, a solid mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Hide glue is used for the joints, and the set-neck construction employs a long tenon. The headstock uses Sperzel tuners, just like the original, and features recreated screw holes from previous replacements as well as marks from a repaired headstock break. (This is surface aging applied by Murphy Lab; the headstock has not actually broken.) The bound neck, featuring dish inlays, has paint chipping recreated through ultra-heavy aging, and the neck shape adopts the "Custom Greeny Profile," which was scanned from the original and reproduced. The pickups include the "Custom Greeny Bucker with Flipped Alnico 2 Magnet" and "Custom Greeny Bucker Alnico 2 Magnet," which reproduce the originalfs phase-reversed front pickup, along with CTS pots and Bumblebee replica capacitors. The center position allows you to achieve the front/rear phase sound, faithfully reproducing the original Greeny down to the finest details. Due to the aged finish, it is difficult to assess the level of wear, but this is a beautiful, well-maintained instrument. Of course, playability is excellent. We hope you will consider this opportunity. * We sincerely apologize, but due to the nature of this product, we are unable to accommodate requests for transfers to other Ishibashi Gakki locations or for in-store viewings.
