About this listing
The sought after and glorious mother of all bass amps. The Ampeg SVT. A state of the art innovation in amplification when it was introduced in 1969. Before this nothing was more powerful or effective as a performance level bass amplifier. This is a late 70s model with "Curved Line" graphics.
This amp being late 70s rather than early 70s had a properly grounded 3 prong AC power cable from the factory. All the electronics were gone over last month and are in good standing. All the power supply was recapped using the highest quality materials available and everything checked over. Power tubes were replaced years ago with electro-harmonix 6550s and were used very little since. They are almost new. Preamp tubes are mostly NOS. The 12DW7s are Ei brand and are NOS. New 12BH7A driver tubes were installed. Vintage RCA. I've been using it pretty regularly here. No excess noise or problems. The noise floor is very low. I will continue to use it until it in my rehearsal studio until it sells, I love these beasts. Transformers are original. Cosmetically it shows some definite signs of use and some oxidization on the face plate and handle caps. Tears in the tolex on bottom and edges. This has been gigged, used as it was designed for. Performance. Nothing sounds like a vintage SVT. The hype is real and this is a really good one serviced with the best available parts.
Will consider offers but I really do love this amp. Shipping can be done safely anywhere in the world but will be VERY expensive as extreme care needs to be taken due to its weight and tube configuration. Please understand this accounts for the cost of postage materials AND insurance. Most sellers won't even consider shipping. I can ship safely worldwide. I got ya covered 100%. I've shipped these internationally in the past with perfect results.
